Frosty Friends Snowmen

Good Morning All.
Sorry I haven't been about lately. It's been  almost a month. Not sure where all the time as gone to be honest. Been in one of those dark places again. So been easier to hide away. I call it social suicide. Seem to be picking myself up again, and getting back in to the card making.
Again the card is a pre-coloured image. I've just added shading with pro-markers and glitter.
A gorgeous digital kit from Daisy Company  - wonderful papers.
I've had this kit a couple of years now and its beautiful. Gets used every year.
Ideal for those quick cards. It prints off beautifully.
I have used this wonderful snow flake die - It's a Magnolia Doohickey
I have a few dies but have to say this is my favourite by far. Added small snowflakes with gems.
Ribbon / gems from stash.
Sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.
Tiny snowflakes are buttons.
So what else as been happening?
I have made 3 Christmas Cakes. Started off as my own, then someone else wanted it. Made a second and that one was pinched too. Finally got round to making my own - which is the large plain one in the middle picture. Oh......actually I made 4 but Hubby sliced a chunk out of that one lol.
Was yummy though!!
I've not made cakes for years. I have to say I really did enjoy making these. So wish I didn't get rid of all my cake decorating bits and bobs now.
Then I made a Christmas Bauble to match a Saturated Canary Card I made.
Bauble was purchased from The Range - 4 in a pack.
Finally, my beautiful Granddaughter Holly was Mary in her Christmas Nativity play.
As soon as she walked in holding Joseph's hand - I started crying. What I mess I was in.
It was wonderful - a day to remember. She looks a little grumpy in this picture.
I do have some gorgeous ones but I can't post them.
Well, thats it for me today. Not sure if I will be back again before Christmas.
So I hope you all have a SUPER DUPER Christmas - don't drink too much.
Enjoy the festive season to the full and I'll catch you all soon.

Tilda with Cross-stitch Heart

Tilda with Cross-stitch Heart - Sweet Christmas Collection
She is just so gorgeous - made this for a cross stitcher friend. So hope she likes.
There isn't a great deal to say about this card as its a quick and simple one. I didn't think it needed too much on it.
Tilda as been coloured in with Pro-markers and stamped on to Letraset Cardridge paper. I use this for both printing and stamping onto.
Though I still give it a blow with my heat gun, just to make sure the ink is dry.
The silver snowflakes are from the NEC a couple of years ago. I've never been able to get any more.
The sentiments I got from The Range - but can't remember who the make is. I took them out of their packaging and put straight in to my sentiment box.
Ribbon is also from my stash - I do believe it came from my market stall.
I've also use my fave Cheery Lynn Die - fanciful flourish.
Papers are Magnolia - so LUSH!!!
" Sweet Crazy Love " - Cloudy Turquoise Hearts.
I'm going to be entering this card in Tilda Towns Challenge which is Anything Goes.
That's it for me today folks. Holly will be arriving soon, so need to put a few craft things away.
Have a good weekend.

Christmas Angel

I so adore this stamp from Krista - certainly a must have for me for my Christmas cards.
Just like last years card, I've again coloured her in blues and beige's.
My favourite colour combination. Coloured with Pro-markers.

So LUSH!!!! Ideal for me cus I just love using blue.
I have used this wonderful snow flake die - It's a Magnolia Doohickey
Sentiment from stash.
Large plastic glittered snowflake, I got from a card shop.
They were gift tags. 6 for £1.99. Bargain - so I stocked up on them for next Christmas.

I've ordered myself some Spectrum Noir Pens this week. They have been dispatched and can't wait to see what they are like to colour with. I've gone for the multi packs and not from CraftersCompanion.
I purchased mine from Readicut and a real bargain. Can anyone give me some tips on how they are?
I'd be very grateful.
Well, I must get things done. Busy day today.
Happy Crafting folks. See you again soon.

Frosty Friends Snowmen

A gorgeous digital kit from Daisy Company - pre-coloured snowmen - wonderful papers.
I've had this kit a couple of years now and its beautiful. Gets used every year.
Ideal for those quick cards. It prints off beautifully.
I printed on to Ryman photo card - 200gsm and layered on to coloured card stock.
The ONLY colouring I have done is - shadowing with pro-markers around the snowmen and distressed the edges.
I have used this wonderful snow flake die - It's a Magnolia Doohickey
I have a few dies but have to say this is my favourite by far. Added small snowflakes with gems.
Ribbon from stash.
Sentiment is from stash.
I have so far made 4 of these and have another 6 to make. I've decided to cut down on my blogger cards this year. I'm sorry but it just had to be done.  Last year I mailed 21 to UK and Overseas blogger friends. Out of them I had 3 thank you's and recieved 4 cards back. I know you don't give to recieve but it would be nice for someone else to make an effort too. I take great pleasure in my cards and also send a little gift too. So with money being tight too this year - I've really had to cut down.
Postage isn't cheap either. So, even if you don't get one - I will still be thinking of you.
I've had rather a good week with cards. Done lots of colouring and papers laid out for each one to place together. With not having my Grandaughter I can get lots done.
Whats been happening with me - oh, I was so upset to hear that Clive Dunn passed away yesterday.
I was watching the news and just burst in to tears. They played his song " Grandad ". It has so many happy memories of my Grandad - we use to sing it together and I still have the 45 record he bought me. So sad - God rest his soul. Even a friend rang me and said she thought of me when she heard the song too. If ever I could have just one wish - it would be to spend a few hours with my Dear Grandad.
Well, I had best shoot - going to try and get some Christmas shopping done today.
Catch you soon.

Flat Bottom Snowy - Again

Flat Bottom Snowy - Sassy Cheryl's Digi's

I so hope you don't get sick of this wonderful snowman or the colour combination.
I've gone crazy for him and just love beige and duck-egg blue together.
Just look at this snow flake too - It's a Magnolia Doohickey. I have a few dies but have to say this is my favourite by far.

I have used a mixtures of papers.
They are FIRST EDITION one's - Christmas Joy & Festive Treats.
Season Greeting tag is from stash - I think it may have been from Hobby Craft.
Flowers as always are Wild Orchid Crafts.

Snowy as been coloured with Pro-markers - duckegg blue and beige.
I will be entering this card in two challenges.
Wild Orchid Challenge which is Bling it on! - Gems and pearls have been added to the card, as well as glitter but I'm afraid cus the light is poor you can hardly see it.
The second challenge is Anything Goes Challenge which is Anything Goes.
That's all from me today - now off to get the veg on and grill the chicken.
See you soon.

Tilda with Tag Gifts

Tilda with Tag Gifts - Christmas Story

I have made this card for the Tilda Town Challenge which this week is Merry Christmas.
The papers I have chosen are Home for Christmas - Papermania. I've said before I'm not a red person. I love it but find it so hard to put together. These papers are simply LUSH! Remind me so much of a Scandinavian Christmas, somewhere - I'd love to go.
I have used a white gel pen to give Tilda stripes and dots on her dress. A great effect me thinks!
Flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts as always.
Sentiment is from stash.
Ribbon - from Papermania Home for Christmas Collection.
I purchased the papers last week and over the weekend whilst in town, I popped in to BHS.
Love their Christmas gifts.
I found this super gift set called " Home Sweet Home - Afternoon Tea "
It contains biscuits, fudge and tea. OMG!!! I was so excited, as it matched the papers perfectly.
I knew straight away who would love this gift. Plus I also had a plan - cheeky!!!
The friend who I am giving it for, saves boxes for me to alter, as well as other bits and bobs.
So...........I know I will get the boxes back after they are finished with and can use again.
Does that make me a bad person??? Eerrrrrr NO! I'm recycling.... hehehehe
Well - it's Sunday, so that means a BIG roast dinner. So I'd best shoot and get the veg ready.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend folks. Hope you slept well last night - I know I did.

I've put things on, took things off. Gosh - what is wrong with me? How hard is it to make a card?
Colouring is fine, don't have a problem with that - it's so relaxing. It's the putting together.
Totally love this Tilda for my Christmas cards. The Jolly season is almost upon us, so I've got to make a start now, else no one will get an hand made card. Though I'm not making many this year.
I bet a lot of you have almost finished them! Gosh I so need to get some mojo and crafting.

Gift Box & Card

My new stamps arrived over the weekend and my mojo returned straight away too.
I was beginning to worry but we all have days like this don't we?
Any way, my box started off as a coffee box which I lightly sprayed with paint.
I never throw anything away that can be altered.
I have used FIRST EDITION papers - Blank Canvas - omg they are so, so lush! I so need to get another pad. Some of the papers in the ck have a fabric texture to them. Gorgeous.
I'd highly recommend them.
Joyful Tilda as been coloured with po-markers. I've only coloured her lightly as to match the papers.
All flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts - I've had these peachy ones for ages now and didn't have papers to match.

Sentiment - Craftwork Cards

Magnolia - Die cut Butterflies.
Ribbon and lace from stash.

My last card on Teddy Bo's Design Team

I have so much going on right now in my hectic life  that I have had to leave the Teddy Bo teamies. There is not any ME time at all and finding it so hard to fit any card making in. I'm knackered when Holly my Grand-daugher as gone home, that all I want to do is sleep. I feel so tired all the time and now doing the school run too. As she is only afternoons, by the time I get home it's time to go back again. I seriously don't know how any of you manage to make cards and fit a full-time job in too.
I will miss all the teamies greatly. Gayle I have known for many years - must be 8 or 9. Infact my first digi kit was purchased from Gayle. I do hope they will all keep in touch. Once things pick up for me - I'll be back with the girls again - wearing my rubber boots / dress and getting the whip out. Wonder who will be wearing them in my place?

It's just a quick post I'm afraid. Too much going on today. I'm still not in the swing of card making. Totally lost inspiration - to the point where after colouring I've torn up a card as I'm not happy with it, then I think " omg - just wasted all that lovely paper ". Cocco with Present

Hi everyone - long time no see!
Trying to get myself back in to card making again. Gosh, it's been so hard. Lost my mojo BIG time.
It was my birthday yesterday and Hubby bought me the Grand Calibur - thanks to my youngest Daughter who told him what I had been saving for. So was a wonderful surprise!
For this card I have used the Go Kreate XL Frames - Frilly #10. I have to say I was totally ripped off with my die. I haven't ordered from the site before - my die was purchased at my local Docraft stockist. I paid £19.99 for my die and I have just been to Go Kreates web site and it's only £13.99. A lesson I have learnt and when I visit my craft shop again I WILL be telling them for sure.
Anyway - I have used the lovely Cocco with Present from Magnolia for this card.
Isn't she gorgeous and so cute? Coloured with Pro-markers.
Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts - except green bunch
Cheery Lynne - Fanciful Flourish
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards
Cheese cloth and doily - gifts

Challenges I am entering my card.

Well, I'm afraid that's it from me today. Sorry it's a quick post but I still have 101 things to do. I hope I find you all fit and well.

Thursday, 13 September 2012

Good morning peeps. No card I'm afraid as I have been busy doing my crocheting.
So this is only a quick post for me. I was asked to make a baby blanket for a friend who's friend is expecting and due any day now.
This blanket took me two weeks to make. Totally enjoyed making this, though soon got bored with adding the tassel's. LOL
Anyway - after using 4 balls of wool at £3.95 a ball and charging my friend £5.00
for making it. She decided it was too expensive. I believe I have under charged for the time it took to make, after speaking to my local wool shop owner. I'm a little disappointed - I'm now left with this blanket and have no baby's to give to.
This is why I thought I would sell on my blog. I am asking for £20.00 plus £4.00 postage.
£24.00 in total - paypal payment.UK only I'm afraid.
The blanket measures 42" x 27" ( inches )
If anyone is interested, just give me a shout. Well.....time for me to go as i have Holly here this morning.

My first attempt at crochet

My first attempt at crocheting - used 3 balls of double knitting in cream and beige round the edge. I mixed the cream and beige together to make the flowers. Sewn buttons in the middle to finish off.
Please don't take my word for this but I think I used double crochets ( TUTORIAL HERE ) and single crochets on this blanket. The flowers ( TUTORIAL HERE ) are not perfect but for a first timer, I am pleased with the end result.
 So easy to do.
Now this second blanket - is again done in double knitting in a mint green baby wool.
The picture doesn't really show its true colour. I'm on my second ball of wool and plan to use four.
I found the pattern on the internet just googling free patterns.
 Here is the link.
This is the pattern I downloaded.

Here are the tutorials that I followed on youtube.
single crochet - HERE
triple crochet - HERE
I hope you can click on the links - and enjoy playing like I have,
Happy Crafting.
