Sparkling Christmas

Good Morning Blogger's.
I haven't managed to get much card making done this weekend. What an eventful weekend its been. My Daughter sort of had a good birthday. Her and eleven friends went out for a meal. As always there is one or two, that have to show off and be loud, so they almost got thrown out of the restaurant. Megan ended up paying for some of her friends as "they forgot their purses" - so that put a dampener on things straight away. Then when they got home - where 7 of her friends were stopping the night - Megan fell down the stairs - from top to bottom. Thankfully no broken bones....scratches and bruises, on her knees, elbows and face. Oh bless, her..what a night! Last years birthday for her was a disaster too....when some of her birthday money went missing. She as now decided, until they are all grow up and mature...she won't be celebrating any more birthdays - she's going to save all celebrations for her 18th. Gosh she's got 3 years to go yet! God help me.
I have spent a lot of time sorting my Brother's house out for him....didn't realise he had so much junk. A builder as offered him a price on the house - but not what we wanted. But may have to take it.....before the mortgage company take it from him.....won't pay his debts though. To be honest it's really draining the point where I can't get motivated. I am at the citizen advice with him today, so fingers crossed that all goes well. Then we have just got to sort him out, fix him, then find him somewhere to live....he can't stay here for ever.

So.... to the little card I managed to get done. Decided that my quick cards for neighbours etc are going to be a black and white theme. The paper on this card is lush.....velvet feel about it. I used my cri-cut and cuttle-bug for the embellishment, then used a little glitter. It's not like me to make a card so simple but to be honest I know that I won't have a great deal of time this year. That's why I am making a start on them now. Did lots of cutting out last night and gluing, so it won't take me long to get done what I need to do - about 30 - LOL

Something exciting also happened to me this weekend - my new stamps came - Kanban - must tell you they are so cute. So... did get some colouring done. Carol.... you have a lot to answer for! From now on please - if you place a card on your blog, with such wonderful stamps -please, please place a WARNING on them.......a Tammy warning!!!! If I am to meet you at the NEC, Tammy as got to stop spending and save for the big day - Gosh hun, can't wait to see you. Excitement ;)) I hope there is going to be lots and lots there......I will need a BIG loan myself!!
Anyway - I must get myself sorted. Hope all of you have a good day. Will place another card on later today.....Happy Crafting

Digital Ink - Brat

This is a card, that I have made for my Daughter who will be 15 this week. Gosh where does the time fly? Doesn't seem that long a go she was in a young woman...with boyfriends.
Thought I would try something new with this one...but I am not entirely happy with the "15" being on the front....doesn't seem to look right. Might end up taking it off...that's if I don't damage the paper. Now, I am not sure where I purchased the digital stamp from. I have had them a while and only used once for a prom card. I took a look at my properties on the computer to check dates when I loaded it, checked old mails and found it was Digital Ink. But for the life of me I can not find the site. So if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. I have another teen card to do and the recipient is very punky .... I do have another of these brat style doll digi stamps but not in the right clothes. So if you can help - do give me a shout. Thank you in advance.

Close up of coloured Brat - used my pro-markers. I am chuffed with the way she turned out.

Side view of the finished card. Thank you for taking a peek.

Snowie Snowman with Bells

Can you tell I have had a new camera - how amazing is this photo?? My Brother got me one for my happy I can take proper pictures of my cards today is quite cloudy, so its dark in the house...and still the photo is great. Tammy's a Happy Bunny!!!

Used my favourite Christmas magnolia stamp - Snowee Snowman with Bells, for this card.
Again, coloured with my pro-markers. Kept the colours simple, so to match the magnolia papers.
Need to stock up on these again - used my last sheet :((

I am going to enter this card in the Magnolia Down Under Challenge - Fancy Folds. This use to be a popular style card for my customers.....only difference was I kept the back and front together with a fold, only with this one the back and front are separate. I am so happy with this card, though I do feel as though something is missing. I may ink up a Tilda and place her on the inside of the card. Rolled matching paper and attached together with ribbon, used wildorchidcrafts flowers and die's for the front of the card.

Close- up of Snowee - added glitter to him and Dimension Magic to his nose/buttons and berries.
A few gems around his body and snow flakes on the front and inside of card.
Thank you so much for dropping by, do leave a comment and pop by again soon.

Jolly Tilda

Sorry I haven't been blogging for a while, but there has been so much going on my end, that I haven't had a great deal of time to make cards. Saying that fallen behind with a lot of things of late.....but just about getting there. Started having a good clear out in the house. Had to sort room's and storage out all the way through the house, as I have now got my Brother staying with me, due to depression. So Tammy is trying her hardest to fix him. We have no family, so someone as got to look after him. I can't give up, can I?
Anyway, to the card. Used my new stamp - Jolly Tilda. Isn't she gorgeous? I was going to sit her on the wine glass stamp, but she looks just as cute on the fire place. Coloured with my pro-markers. I have added some glitter but doesn't really show up that much. Used brads for the stockings.....which gives a great finish. Paper's used are K & Company. Had these for years and haven't actually seen them in my local shop this year. These are my favourite so do need to stock up on them again, I use them every year for my Christmas cards. The large " C " is chip board in which I have covered with matching paper and glossed with Dimensional Magic. The words were cut on my Cri-cut.

Close up of Tilda

Back of finished card. Like all my cards, I like to add a touch to the back of them. Just have to make a box as this card is rather large - 7 inches by 6 inches.

Altered Match-Box

This was a quick play over the weekend. A few years ago, I took part in a match-box swap. I was thinking of doing one myself but its always best when you have a few people taking part. The whole idea is to decorate a match-box, any size and fill with craft goodies
~ ie ~ embellishments/ribbon/brads etc. If any one fancies taking part let me know and I am sure we can sort something out. It's fun and something different, isn't it?

I used Papermania - Rose Garden for this little gift. The papers are 8" x 8" and fantastic. You don't just get patterned papers but alphabets, tags, borders and icons too. Money worth spending.
Anyway, thank you for taking a peek.

Sneaky Tilda

I hope that everyone as had a brilliant weekend. Mine as been busy as always. You know the usual washing, ironing, cleaning, shopping and more importantly card making! I took Carol's advise ~ making a few cards as certainly took my mind off a lot of things. I can't let thing's get me down can I? Just wish there wasn't so many obstacles in life....seems continuous these past few months, with one thing and another. Oh well, never mind hey?
This stamp is new. She's called "Sneaky Tilda". Got to say, I have many favourites but she is now number 1.
I have decided to enter this card in to a few challenges.
Firstly ~ Magnolia Down Under Challenge #63 ~ Sketch Challenge.
I really did enjoy doing this sketch. This card is for a very dear friend of mine who's birthday is at the end of the month and loves receiving an hand made card from me, so much so that it stays on display for weeks before she puts it away. I wish everyone was like that! Another story for another time. Papers used were G.C.D. Studios - Ella Blue - so adorable. The next Challenge I will be entering the card in is - Totally Tilda Challenge #5
This is called "Make your own Flowers". I had a ball making them. Found a tutorial the other day, which I have placed on my blog. Sometimes it hard to match some flower's with paper's, so making these was a must have for me. Great to have them matching so perfectly. I sprayed fabric fresh on mine, then a little glimmer mist. The flowers smell lovely and when my friend opens the box.....the scent of them will hopefully jump out too.
Now for the third challenge - Totally Paper Crafts Challenge #33
which is "Let's go Dotty" hence the spotty backing papers.
The fourth Challenge is Charisma Cardz Challenge #36 - "Try Something New".
I have never done a Sketch before or even made my own flowers, so hopefully this will count.
I must admit, taking part in the Challenges as built my cards back up. I don't have to panic any more, when someone wants a card at short notice. All I have to do it make a box to match.
Used all duck egg blues and brown's for colouring Tilda. There is something that I have noticed with this Tilda ~ she as a wonky eye. Doesn't matter how many times I stamped her, her right eye isn't a circle. Checked the stamp, as nothing on it, seems clear - so must be a slight fault. She's still my number 1 though - we aren't all perfect are we?

Close-up of made flowers.

I always finish the back of my cards - hate to see them plain.
Anyway Peeps - I had better load this up - enter my card in the Challenges, then get myself up the wooden hill. Thank you so much for stopping by, leave me a comment and do pop over again.

Handmade Paper Flowers

Good morning all, hope you slept well. Was having a bit of google time last night and found this tutorial. It was rather late for me, actually it almost midnight. I was finishing off a card and ran out of flowers.....don't you just hate that when you have none left, that match's the papers you have used. So... anyway... here is the video. I have only made a few but hey, this will become an addiction.

Where the lady in the video sprayed with water, I actually used my spray bottle with febreze and glimmer mist mixed together. The flowers smell so fresh ~ lol ~ I was thinking of the tv advert then.....sorry had to have a giggle cus they are so false arent they? I will post some pictures later of my flowers. Don't have a camera this morning as the Daughter took it out with her last night and stopped over at a friends. I hope you all find this rather useful ~ as I know I did.

Tilda in Autumn Leaves

I am well on the ball today. Two cards in one day, that's really good for me. I just had to get this stamp when I saw it. Totally addicted ~ I must say. But I know I am not the only one. If I was to be honest, I am not that keen on the card its self. For the first time ever, I struggled with paper's, just couldnt bring anything together. The colouring went OK ~ did have some bleeding problems though. I think excitement got the better of me and was in a hurry of colouring her, so I think , next time I won't rush so much.
I used my pro-markers for the colouring. If any one is interested in the colours I used, I will list them for you. Still feel like something is missing off the card. Maybe it's because I havent got a bow on there.....not sure....just keep stirring at it lol.

pro-marker colours ~Burnt Orange, Honeycomb, Oatmeal, Pear Green, Sandstone & Tan.

Paper's used ~ Basic Grey ~ Boxer Paper Pad

Christmas Card

Girl's are now back at school and college, so thought now is a good time to get a start on what I call my Special Cards. These ones are for my very good friends ~ that's why they are my special ones.. I have my list on my craft board, so do still have a few to do. Made a start on last years Magnolia Christmas Collection already, as I love the Snowman. His glittered up and waiting to dry. My new Apple and Cherry stamps have arrived today too, so will definitely be making a start on them later ~ don't you just love it when the house is quiet and you can have a play without someone somewhere shouting you?
So, to this card. I have to be honest I can not remember what these paper's are called or where they came from. I found them last week when I had a clean out in my craft room. I forgot that I had them ~ bet I am not the only one who looks through their craft stuff and says " Gosh, where did that come from" or "Gosh, I forgot I had that"! Do have a funny feeling they may have come from Craftworkcards but please don't quote me on that. They are adorable though. I have glitter Tilda up and added a little to the ivory, placed gems in her hair to look like hair bobbles. Christmas greeting is, I know from Craftworkcards. Flowers are from Wildorchidcrafts - link is on my side bar.
I have decided to enter this card is the Just Magnolia Challenge " Anything Goes ".
Small snow flakes are table decorations that I bought last year from a shop that no longer exists. Glad I bought a few boxes. So will last me a few more Christmas's to come.

Thank you, Carol for your kind words. I have picked up the past few days. Having the house to myself and crafting as really helped Hun. It's so nice to have some kind, friendly crafting friends.
What would I do without peeps like you?

Feeling sad!

I have had a bad few days my end, so just wanted to apologise for not blogging. I have not had it in me to do anything. In fact I have never felt so low in my life. I will begin to explain. Has you all are aware - I got myself a little cleaning job. I have never felt so excited. Getting myself out of the house I was so looking forward to. It didn't matter to me, what the job was as long as I wasn't seeing four walls any longer. But things changed, and changed badly. I had the job for 2 weeks, when I got a call to ask me to go and meet the House Master and his Wife. These were the couple that I would be cleaning for. I arrived on time and was welcomed in their home. I spent just over 2 hours there and had a wonderful time.....even sat in the kitchen chatting about just anything over a cup of tea. She said how much I reminded her of her last cleaner - we had so much in common, which to her she said was a good thing. I said my good-byes and she kindly walked me to the car. I was asked by the person who interviewed me and whom gave me the job to ring him when I got home. This I did......he asked me if I still wished to have the job. Of course I said YES and that I felt I had really clicked with the couple. I was then told they were happy with me and liked me.....and the job was mine without a doubt. I was excited and on a high.....dancing a round the house merrily, like an excited child at Christmas. Then 4 days later I had a missed call whilst out shopping, from the school. I telephoned back straight away. I thought it was for my start date as there had been a delay in paperwork with the school being off. I asked for the person whom rang.........Gosh I tell you, this is where the nightmare began. This is what was said before I could get a word in edge ways - " I telephoned you regarding the job you applied for, am afraid I have to take it away from you." Imagine how I felt when she then said " You were too nice, over friendly and not formal enough. The House Parents felt they would not be able to trust you in their house and don't have the time to stand over you whilst there. " If they felt this way, then why did they welcome me there home and let me stay for such a long time. I am sure if they didn't like me they would have made some excuse to get me out of their property. Then the final straw was to be told " It shows you have had no interview experience and have been a stay at home Mum for 20 years, I personally would not have gave you the job if I had met you". Who, does she think she can she judge me when she as never met me? Then finally she said " The House Master's Wife did not appreciate being touched by you, she was very insulted". I shuck her hand with my right hand, then touched her arm with my left and thanked her for a lovely morning. How bad was that? I thought I was being polite. How can being too nice and over friendly not get you a job. What is not formal enough? I tell you I almost collapsed when I put the phone down. I didn't go out the house or speak to anyone on the phone. I felt I was being judged by everyone. To be honest, even though its a week since that call.....if I go to the shop I rush a round to get home as quick as I possibly can. I have never felt so humiliated and insulted in my life. I have since learnt from a friend who also works at this school, that the person who interviewed me, knew nothing of me having the job taken from me. In fact he was very shocked and said " Tammy is a lovely woman, the job suited her well ". He is also investigating the matter but hasn't bothered to pick up the phone to apologies to me what so ever. I have been advised to take the matter further myself but I can't see where that would get me, as I have no intentions of working there if it was the last job on the planet. I am not sleeping at night cus all that goes through my head are those words " too nice - over friendly - can not trust you ".
So I will not be going for a job at a private school again. How the other half live hey!! I am sorry, if I have moaned a little but felt telling someone was sort of getting it off my chest. Thanks for taking the time in reading my sad little story lol.
So anyway to make Tammy feel better, I have just bought my tickets to go and see Meatloaf in December. I love his music, so it will certainly give me one hell of a pick-me-up.
